Natural mica products

In addition to various stocked items, we also accommodate custom products! We can respond widely to our customers' requests.

"Natural mica," known as "unmo" in Japanese, is a mineral primarily produced in India. With excellent electrical insulation and heat resistance properties, natural mica has been a representative product of our company since its founding and has long been used by our customers as one of the essential insulating materials in today's electrical industry. It is categorized into two types: "hard mica," which excels in electrical insulation, and "soft mica," which excels in heat resistance, allowing us to respond broadly to customer needs. 【Features】 ■ Excellent electrical insulation and heat resistance - Heat resistance temperature: Hard mica 600–800℃ / Soft mica 900–1000℃ ■ Excellent processability and dimensional stability ■ Excellent cost performance *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Integrated mica and synthetic mica products

We offer a wide range of services from small quantities (machining and laser processing) to mass-produced items (stamped products).

"Composite mica" refers to mica that has been crushed and processed into a paper-like form, layered multiple times, and made into tape or sheet form. Due to its heat resistance and insulating properties, it is used as a material for mica heaters, insulation boards, and insulating plates. We can accommodate a wide range of products, from small quantities (machining and laser processing) to mass-produced items (stamped products). [Features] - Crushed mica processed into a paper-like form and layered multiple times into tape or sheet form - Used as a material for mica heaters, insulation boards, and insulating plates due to its heat resistance and insulating properties - Wide range of support from small quantities (machining and laser processing) to mass-produced items (stamped products) *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Solution Case] Development with a Reversal of Thinking

Introducing examples of innovations that have realized production previously thought impossible through a shift in thinking!

At Okabe Maika Industrial, we primarily produce mica tape by laminating film and glass cloth with mica. However, we received a request from a customer to laminate with a substrate that has a strength we have not previously encountered. The substrate requested by the customer had the following issues: 1. Due to its lack of strength, using it in the normal lamination process resulted in wrinkles. 2. When applying adhesive and drying it through heat treatment, the substrate would stretch. To address these challenges, we optimized the manufacturing process by implementing 1. optimization of the transport path and 2. introduction of a heat-pressing method through optimization of the lamination roll. We achieved results that satisfied the customer while also meeting the proposed cost. [Solution] ■ We implemented optimization of the manufacturing process by introducing a heat-pressing method through optimization of the transport path and lamination roll. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
